Angelica Hay is a musician, painter, and new media artist based out of Grand Rapids, MI. A fellowship recipient, Angelica recently graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with an M.F.A in Painting and M.A. in Visual Critical Studies. Angelica is an interdisciplinary artist with a B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, and her studio work uses images culled from her background in genetics in order to explore themes of personal identity, reproduction, and loss. Her latest body of work employs sound, light, video and traditional painting, with the intention of creating a contemplative space for the viewer. For Angelica, visual art and sound are inextricably bound in her creative process. Her interest in sound goes beyond her studio practice and in late 2016, Angelica formed Pink Sky, an instrumental electronic band and collaborative art project with her husband. Since graduating, Angelica has been working exclusively with Pink Sky, and is currently writing, recording and producing music from her studio. For more info on Pink Sky click here.
